Community Consultations announced for Library's next Plan of Service (2017 - 2019)

The Town of Okotoks Library Board is pleased to announce the following dates for public consultations and public meetings planned for March 2016. These public meetings form part of the strategic planning for the compilation of the new Plan of Service 2017-2019 for the Okotoks Public Library. As previously explained, this Plan of Service is a statutory requirement in order to ensure continued Provincial funding for the operation of our library.
Tuesday 8 March – A meeting of Community Leaders
A meeting of invited Community Leaders will take place at the Okotoks Public Library from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.
Monday 14 March – A public meeting for library patrons and other members of the Town of Okotoks and the MD of Foothills
Members of the general public are invited to attend this meeting at the Okotoks Public Library from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Residents do not need to be members of the Library to attend the meeting and everyone is welcome to attend.
Wednesday 16 March – A public meeting for parents and young families
This meeting, for parents with babies and toddlers, will be held at the library from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Parents are welcome to bring along the “future library card holders”, which will only enhance the spirit of community.
Purpose
The purpose of these public meetings is to involve and include the community that we serve in the planning for the future of our Library. We would like to provide a short review of the services presently provided by the Library but, more importantly, we wish to canvass the needs and expectations of the very people that we serve.
Please join us in this important task; planning for the future of our, your, Library – Heart of the Community, Key to the World.
