Teen Summer Library Reading Experience!

All you have to do to join the interactive Library Experience is complete the stars in the Teen Summer Library Experience Form found at the Okotoks Library. You will need a library card to participate. If you are between the ages 10-17 you can participate! To register, present your card and pick up your Teen Summer Library Experience Form at the library and collect your first FREE Prize! Complete the stars in any order, but complete Star#1 first to have more chances to WIN prize draws! Starts June 20th

Halloween Howl (Ages 6 - 12)

Join us at the Okotoks Public Library for an afternoon of fun and activities. There will be face painting and Halloween crafts.  We’ll make ‘Scaredy Cat Cupcakes’ and ‘Yummy Bat Droppings’.  Come dressed in you best Halloween costume and enjoy some witch’s brew and finger food.

Limited space. Fee must be paid at time of registration. No refunds.

Dog Tales - New Pilot Program

(Ages 8 - 12)

This program is a partnership between Literacy for Life, Okotoks Public Library and our volunteers who bring the dogs with jobs.

This program is designed to pair children (ages 8-12) struggling to find joy in reading and a dog who will do nothing but listen. The dogs are screened for gentle character and good habits. Registration Details: Begins on-line Sept 1st at www.litforlife.com or by contacting Bonnie at 403-938-2959.

French Reading Group (Ages 6, 7 & 8)

French Reading Group is designed to encourage children to become life-long readers while promoting an appreciation for the French language, rhythm and imagination. It includes storytelling, puppets, finger plays, songs, rhyme, games and crafts. No cost. Limited space.

Let's Celebrate Canadian Library Month

Celebrate Canadian Library Month this October by participating in our Reading Contest for children ages 3 – 17.  Bookmarks will be handed out for different age groups and when you finish reading a book, fill in the appropriate information on the bookmark.  Once the bookmark is filled in, bring it back to the library and it will be entered into a prize draw to be awarded at the end of the month. Contest open to current account holders only.

Family Gingerbread House Making

Bring your family to the library to build and decorate your own gingerbread house. Some candy will be provided, but you might want to bring some of your own too! Drinks and cookies will be served.
